To achieve a Certificate IV in Hairdressing, all units must be completed. There are 11 units in total, including 2 Core units and 9 Elective units.
To Achieve a Certificate IV in Hairdressing you need to have completed the Certificate III in Hairdressing and all 11 Core units and a minimum of 4 units from any of the Elective streams (hairdressing, beauty or management).

Vocational Outcomes
Successful graduates of the Certificate IV in Hairdressing will have a number of vocational pathways (options) available to them. AH&B College has focused on current industry directions and expectations including: advanced styling, fashion trend awareness, and commercial salon small-team management. The graduate would be expected to embody the industry term of “Senior Hairdresser”. The Senior Hairdresser may lead a small team and will be involved with the training and development of junior salon staff. Hairdressers may also look to other industry pathways including session work (work with magazine/models); mobile hairdressing; film & television work; or a career with one of the large industry suppliers (i.e. Matrix or L’Oreal).

Students must be 18 years of age or older.

achieved a SHB30416- Certificate III in Hairdressing (or equivalent); and

at least one year post-qualification full time employment experience as a hairdresser in a salon environment where they have applied the skills and knowledge covered in the above (or equivalent) qualification.
